Clans are joinable player-made groups. Joining a clan allows members the ability to gain infamy for their clan, capture islands under their clan name, and build structures and fortifications on captured islands under their clan's control.

The only joinable non-player-made (N.P.C.) clan is the Arcane Government. Other notable N.P.C. clans include: The Mantle Pirates, the Shining Pirates, and the One Shot Pirates.

How Clans Work[]

Clans can be made by players who are not already in a clan. To create their clan, players will need to pay 50 Aurem by accessing the "Clan" tab in the "Menu" tab on the bottom right corner of their screen. From here, players will be able to set the names of three clan ranks as well as their clan name and description, and customize their clan logo. Only the clan description and logo are able to be changed once a clan is created.

Upon creating or joining a clan, the clan logo will appear next to the usernames of all clan members on the leaderboard. Hovering over the clan logo with the cursor will display a UI containing the clan's name, tier, description, member count, average reputation, total islands captured, and current islands captured. The clan icon will hover above your Ship if you belong to a clan.

Currently, only three clan ranks are available. The leader rank is able to invite and promote members, change the clan logo and clan description as well as have the ability to disband the clan. The "high rank" role is only able to invite and promote members. The lowest rank cannot alter the clan in any way.

Infamy[]

In clans, infamy can be earned to increase the clan tier and unlock new structures that can be built on captured islands. When a certain amount of infamy is achieved, the clan will go up by one tier and will likewise go down a tier when a clan's infamy goes below a certain threshold. Infamy can be gained through the following:

Capturing Islands[]

Capturing any of the capturable islands will award a certain amount of infamy and Lamina which varies depending on the islands captured via island taxes received every 5 minutes as long as said islands are under the clan's control and the captor(s) of the islands are present in the server. Receiving taxes is not based on how long the island has since been captured, rather it runs on a server-wide timer, meaning infamy can be awarded far below the first 5 minutes of capture.

All clan members in a server will be notified when their controlled islands are being contested or have been captured. It takes approximately 10 seconds to capture an island. An island with a clan house structure will not be able to be contested until that clan's clan house has been destroyed.

Killing Players[]

Killing players who are not in the same clan will award 1 infamy per defeated or combat logged player, regardless of the difference in power or whether they are in the same party. On the other hand, dying to a player not in your clan will reduce your clan's infamy by 1 per death. The amount of infamy lost or gained depends on the tier of player's clan and the tier of the killed player's clan.

Clan members will not lose infamy when dying to people who are in the same clan, from Enemies and Sharks, from self-inflicted damage such as damage from exhausting stamina and resetting, or from natural disasters. Killing a player that is in a clan will reward different amounts of infamy depending on what clan tier that clan is, however combat logging a player will always award 1 infamy.

Clan Tiers[]

Based on a clan's tier, players can choose to build upgraded fortifications on captured islands which offer more hit-points, major visual changes, and in later tiers, mounted cannons and mortars at the cost of more lamina needed to build said structures.

Clan tiers are as follows:

  • New (0 to 200 Infamy)
  • Rookie (201 to 1,000 Infamy)
  • Average (1,001 to 5,000 Infamy)
  • Strong (5,001 to 15,000 Infamy)
  • Powerful (15,001 to 25,000 Infamy)
  • All-mighty (25,001 to 50,000 Infamy)
  • Legendary (50,000 to 100,000 Infamy)
  • Mythical (100,000 Infamy and higher)

Clan tiers also affect the amount of infamy gained or lost upon a kill or a death. This is based on the tier of the clan of the person killed and the tier of the clan you are in respectively. The higher a clan's tier the more infamy is lost on a clan member's death, and the same amount of infamy that was lost is awarded to the opposing clan.

The values are as follows:

  • New or clanless (+/- 1 Infamy)
  • Rookie (+/- 2 Infamy)
  • Average (+/- 3 Infamy)
  • Strong (+/- 4 Infamy)
  • Powerful (+/- 5 Infamy)
  • All-mighty (+/- 6 Infamy)
  • Legendary (+/- 8 Infamy)
  • Mythical (+/- 10 Infamy)

Capturable Islands[]

Below are all of the current capturable islands in the game. The amount of infamy gained is the same for each island, however if an island has a clan house built on it, that island will award extra infamy to the clan who built the clan house. The amount of extra infamy awarded by a clan house differs depending on the tier of the clan house built. A tier 3 clan house awards 1 extra infamy, a tier 6 clan house awards 3 extra infamy, and a tier 8 clan house awards 4 extra infamy. There is no limit to how many islands that can have clan houses built on them.

Structures[]

Players that are in a clan are able to build structures on any captured island that they own. Upon coming within range of a captured island, clan members can use the structure builder tool that allows them to start building structures on their captured islands at the cost of some materials purchased at Sabura or Alalea for every structure. The structure builder tool looks like a blueprint and has to be purchased and equipped in a tool slot in the inventory.

Saving and Loading[]

Structures can be saved and loaded in a way that enables players to carry their island builds through servers. To save a structure, one must simply open up the structure tool and select the "save" button and choose "yes" when prompted by the GUI to confirm the save, this is because only three builds can be saved at a time per island meaning previous saved builds for an island will be completely overwritten.

Saved presets can only be loaded in again when the captured island hasn't already been built on by people from the same clan, even if all structures made have been deleted or destroyed. Saved presets do not require materials to be be loaded in.
